Ready to Launch an Investigation
It’s
been three days since the historic Maupin Funeral Fiasco, and not a single
member of the mendacious news media (especially Huggable Howard at the
Fishwrap) has reported the cost of all that Hype, who’s got the money,
and who’s footing the bill This sounds like a job for the
Whistleblower Truth Squad.
John “No Left
Turns in Goshen” Joseph says we should count him among those who forwarded The Blower’s
criticism of all that Maupin Mania Hype to his friends, since once again only
the Whistleblower had the courage to say what needed to be said. John says the
response he received agreed with The Blower, including some who lost relatives
in Iraq .
Many felt guilty about feeling that way, and they were refreshed to find they
were not alone.
Also in
Clermont County ,
long-time fan and faithful Whistleblower reader Sheriff A.J. “Tim”
Rodenberg thanked The Blower for reporting the fallen warriors from our area
who made the ultimate sacrifice, and wanted to make sure the following were
included:
USMC Lance Corporal Nick Erdy, 21, Williamsburg , OH , KIA in Iraq 5/11/2005
Army Staff Sergeant Phillip McNeill, 22, who grew up in Cincinnati but later moved to Florida and KY, KIA in Iraq 1/22/07 (his step dad is one of our Deputies in Clermont County)
Army Staff Sergeant Chuck Kiser, 37, who grew up in Amelia , OH , KIA in Iraq 6/24/04
Sheriff Rodenberg (USMC 1970-1975) says he got all choked up when he saw his best friend's name from high school in the Blower’s list: Army Sergeant William (Bill) Littleton , who was killed in Vietnam in 1970. Bill was drafted and after he went to Vietnam, Rodenberg felt he should follow his example and he joined the Marines just a few months before his best friend was killed. The Sheriff still visits his old friend’s gravesite at Spring Grove Cemetery at least once a year and trims the grass from around his headstone and places a flag near it. Semper Fi, Sheriff!
Finally, our Clermont Crusader says
he heard that Matt Maupin’s dad, who for the last four years said he
wouldn’t shave his hideous beard until his son Matt came home, now says
it’ll stay on until all the guys come home. You just knew that was going
to happen.
At Monday night’s Blue Chip
Republican Club Trolley Folly Debate, opponent Chris Monzel said since this was
such a huge investment, it should go to a vote of the people. Chris Bortz
said he agreed people should be able to have a voice and welcomes the
opportunity to take it to the people. We'll see whether that translates into ever
putting it on the ballot.
The Monz suggested having a trial run to determine what the actual ridership will be. He referred to a spreadsheet put together by his Chief of Staff Brad Beckett that showed it would be very unlikely ridership would ever cover the operating costs.
The speakers were reminded that the Bob Bungalhaus Sales Tax Hike was supposed to pay for the stadiums and the Banks projects, yet the stadium fund is out of money and soon to be in the red while the Banks remains a pile of dirt. The Empty Uppity Oprah Winfrey Campaigning for Obama, Under-funded, Ugly-ass Poorly-Planned Unnagraown Ray roe Museum Not-so-Free-dom Center was supposed to be built for $70 million and run independently, but it cost $110 million and requires annual over-taxed payer bailouts. The Streetcar proposal relies heavily on raising private funds, however Portman’s Folly overlooking the Banks has only raised about $1 million of the $20 million endowment they promised to raise from private funds. The speakers were then asked how they can guarantee the Trolley Folly won't become another annual public welfare case like the Great White Guilt Center .
Maybe our Liberal apologists could explain who paid for the full page ad the Uppity Ray roe Museum had in Tuesday's Fishwrap where they thanked all the folks whose arms they’d twisted.
Monzel said he shared that concern. Bortz agreed that the Banks and Freedom Center were poorly done, and said if the private funds cannot be raised for the Streetcar, he wouldn't support building it. He said they've learned from the mistakes of the prior two projects. Yeah, right, next thing you know these clowns will start talking about a bridge they have to sell us.
The Young Republicans allowed anyone there to ask questions without any screening. Questions were raised about whether this money would be better spent if spread throughout Cincinnati . On the flip side, a pro-streetcar speaker said we had to invest in the tax-generating areas of the city to pay for the other areas. One person pointed out that most of the city residents don't live near the proposed line and would still have to get in a car and drive to the area served by the streetcar in order to use ride on it.
For the second time this year the Blue Chip Young Republicans set a new attendance record. There were a large number of elected officials present, including Republican County Commissioner Pat DeWhine. This event received advance publicity on radio, TV, and in the press, and three news crews and Fishwrapper Repeat Bronson were even present at the event. That Conservative Cutie Maggie Nafziger sure can really attract a crowd.
Speaking of the DeWhiner, kudos for
discovering the City of Cincinnati hasn't paid
its jail fees to Hamilton
County since 2001 and for
insisting the city pay up. Memo to Semper Si: How come your Devious DemocRAT
cohorts Odd Todd Opportune and David A. Pepper didn’t think of that?
Maybe that’s something the
Hamilton County
GOP can explain at Saturday’s
Annual Campaign
School from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the
Ramada Inn at 800 West Eighth
Street in Cincinnati .
HC GOP Political Director Patrick Maloney still has a few open seats available.
Call him anytime at 381-5454 night or day.
Whistleblower Senior
National Political Affairs Analyst Britt Humus says, Hillary criticized Obama
on Monday for opposing proposals to suspend gas taxes this summer, a plan she
and Republican Nominee-to-Be John McCain have both endorsed. Guess where The
Blower comes down on that! Of course, the Fishwrap supports keeping taxes as
high as possible.
In Blue Ash, Cooper Kenwood says
Obama’s racist pastor Rev-rum Wright's re-invention tour was more of the
same claptrap. Perhaps there could be a "Hug Obama tour" by the
Kennedys, Shrivers, and Chris Smithermouth to revive his campaign. We wonder if
Smithermouth can get Rev Wright to be the keynote speaker for the brotherly
love seminar during the upcoming NAALCP convention in
Cincinnati .
In
Columbus , Buckeye Bureau Chief Gerry Manders
says Depraved
DemocRAT Attorney General Marc Dann finally fired one state employee under his control
who was accused of sexually harassing a 26-year old female employee. Dwight
Aspacher, working in Warren County, was accused of groping the babe, showing
her naked photos of himself and forcing her to perform sexual acts. Aspacher
was suspended from his duties eight months ago, on course with his $42,000
annual salary continuing to be paid. Dann was letting the situation ride until
Dann himself was recently connected to sexual harassment-related charges in
Columbus . Coincidence? We
think not!
DemocRAT State Representative
Matthew Barrett, from Amherst, Ohio, was speaking last October to a government
class in Norwalk on the topic "how a bill becomes law," when several
slides in his slide show showed images of a naked woman. Barrett gave the
excuse that his son must have slipped those slides in. However, he was recently
forced to admit the naked chick slides were of a female of his close personal
acquaintance and had nothing to do with his three-year-old son. DemocRAT
Barrett, who is married, probably not related to a local Republican Federal
Judge, just submitted his resignation from the state legislature.
We wonder if Barrett will now get a highly-paid job in Attorney General Marc
Dann's office. Or with only 188 more days till our November Elections, maybe
Ditzy DemocRAT Icky Vicky Wulsin (Millionaire-Indian
Hill) will add
Barrett to her indecent proposal list.
And what a cushy job Craig Mehall
has. And a questionable one. According to the Pain Dealer, he's the only state Attorney General representative in
Washington, DC., with his own office. None of the
other 49 states have one. Mehall, 40, who serves under sex scandal-clouded
DemocRAT Marc Dann, makes $98,000 per year for doing not much of anything.
Mehall has no previous Washington experience and before being hired by Dann as
deputy chief of policy, his only other job was working in his family's farm and
briefly in Chicago
after law school. He does not have a law license in the State of
Ohio . Maybe that’s
why he had to go to Washington .
What a joke! The Failed Cincinnati Public
Schools are spreading the word they might get a new "Effective"
rating from the State because of a new giveaway term called "value
added", awarded when a district shows a rise in State test scores for two
years in a row. The CPS gets worse each year, if it's possible to sink
any lower, yet they think they can go up in the State ratings. Is the
State checking for CPS administrator cheating/test answer altering in the
Ohio Achievement
Testing? Our guess is there are a lot of illegal things going on with
that test, maybe even altering the answers two years in a row. Will the
State reward CPS for doing that?
The picture of Mrs. Buckwheat and Gayvenor Strickland
was priceless on Monday's noon news. She looked even more miserable than
usual, standing with the man who kicked her husband's ass. They were
celebrating the fraud at Tit
High School (Taft
Information Technologies).
As you enter the lavish McMason high school, you will
notice a fireplace in the front hall. Some McMason parents are now saying it's
there so sex-and-drugs proponents board president Ying Ling and superintendent
Kevin Bright can rehearse and prepare for the time when they will burn in hell.
Showcase Cinemas, on the site of the old Twin Drive-In
in Norwood ,
just closed. Maybe all those black thugs roaming the parking lot and screaming
fatherless babies interrupting the movies made white people feel uncomfortable.
Another business closes because of the actions and behavior in the jungle.
Finally, Hurley the Historian says on this date in
1945 Adolph Hitler committed suicide in his Berlin Bunker, and our Quote for
Today Committee chose Marge Schott’s astute World War II observation:
“Hitler was good in the beginning, but he just went too far.”
Bluegrass Broadcasts
Bluegrass Bureau Chief Ken
CamBoo says except for a few cave dwellers in Crestview Hills, the entirety of
Northern Kentucky has come down with a serious case of
Flashlight fever. The most recent ratings book shows Channel 22’s
Flashlight Theater absolutely dominating its Saturday midnight competition.
Booh-mer Magazine recently gave the show its coveted five-star rating and
reported that “this colossal compendium of creativity is a captivating
cornucopia of classic cinema and cranium cranking comedy!” Word has
leaked from the CPC studios that Flashlight Theater is adding a serious feature
to the show. The crew (which just happens to include Beloved Whistleblower
Publisher Charles Foster Kane) will explore unexplained phenomenon in the
Tri-State. Our sources tell us that the first investigation will reveal an
actual UFO crash-site somewhere in Northern Kentucky .
All we can tell you is . . . stay tuned!
Bluegrass
Republicans say John McCain has once again opened his mouth and jumped in with
both feet. The Republican Party in North Carolina
had been talking about running an ad showing Barack Obama’s pastor
praising America
in his own special way. On Friday McCain condemned Republicans for being
partisan and the North Carolina
GOP told him to go to hell. Over the weekend the
North Carolina Republican Party raised more
money than McCain could think of raising. The CamBoozler wonders what kind of
mischief Bill Cunningham could cook up to welcome McCain when he returns to
Cincinnati for a big secret fund-raiser on the
North Shore .
With only 20 more days till
the Bluegrass primary elections on May 20, the CamBoozler had to send somebody
to cover the big meet-the-candidates event last night at the new $28 Million
Library in Boone County
where Florence
City Council candidates and the two
Republican candidates for Dick Roeding’s seat would be appearing. The
CamBoozler was keeping his eye on Mayor Blondie Whalen, to remind her of her
promise for Opening Day tickets in just 21 more days.
Did you see in the recent
Boone County
Recorder where Judge Defective Moore-or-Less’ neighbors came to fiscal
court and said they did not want trails in their neighborhood. It’s
pretty bad when your own neighbors turn on you.
Finally, The Blower received
the following e-mail about Sunday’s “Let’s Count All Our
Fallen Heroes” E-dition.
I just wanted to give you a tip of the cap and say thanks for your latest e-dition. Politics is fun and cruel, lively and most assuredly deadly. Nothing though takes the place of the suffering of our men and women in uniform. Too many people take for granted the sacrifices that have been made by these heroes. They often get no thanks from their own government and have to endure extremely low pay and lost benefits, especially for our wounded. Families are ripped apart at the seams and most have lasting bad memories.
Your e-dition was great because you brought attention to those who never got a chance to come home and enjoy the life that they so desperately sought to preserve.
Tonight I was talking to my Dad, a Silver Star recipient from Germany in WWII. He was a member of the 87th Golden Acorn Division under Patton. I saw pictures from Germany and where he had to get across the Rhine River and take over a castle. To get to the castle, an extremely large railroad switching yard had top be traversed. He took out a couple of machine gun nests along the tracks with no cover. I have no idea how he ever survived. He did, and then Mom and Dad raised 14 kids. I was an enlisted soldier, then an officer in the Army, and I am very glad you took the time to write your tribute. Every year there has been a reunion for all of the survivors of Dad’s Division. They are now cancelling any further reunions because all of the Vets are dying off or they can’t make it. This is the last year. They are, however trying to start a legacy program with hopes to keep the flame lit. I will try to get there in September in King of Prussia , Pennsylvania with my dad, so I can help keep the fires lit.
I know you hear a lot of stuff and get a lot of guff, but I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated your e-dition. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Steve Hoffman
Or as you call me, “Marrying Steve.”
