Apologies to Real Republicans in Hamilton County
By Ronald Reagan

I have come to express my regrets for your so-called Republican Party in Hamilton County following Friday night’s annual dinner. The Grand Old Party rose to prominence under Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, and during the 1980s, I even tried to help get the GOP back on track, but it now seems to have wandered farther off course that I could’ve ever imagined. Imagine supporting Devious DemocRAT Hamilton County Commissioners Odd Todd Opportune’s and David A. Pepper’s Super-sized $900 million Feel-Good-Social Programs Tax Scam that would also include the GOP Sheriff Simon E. Leis Memorial Hoosegow.
You did the right thing in sending them a message on Election Day in 2007. It was a hard message and it should’ve been painful for them to endure. I had hoped it would remind them of the true conservative roots of the party. If nothing else, it should’ve given them time to contemplate where they went wrong. This might’ve been the best thing that could’ve ever happened to them.
But I am ashamed of where George Vincent, Rob Portman, and their friends have taken the Hamilton County Republican Party. Instead of less government, they wanted to give you more government. They endorsed candidates who do not maintain traditional Republican values. They supported wild spending, throwing over-taxed payers’ dollars at the biggest proposed expansion of County government in more than a decade. They have become that which you and I fought so hard against in the 1980s. The punishment you inflicted on them at the polls was well deserved. In fact, it may have been long overdue.
The Hamilton County Republican Party led by George Vincent is out of touch with the voters and its Republican base. These Republicans in Name Only have obviously not learned the hard lessons of 2006, and 2007. They took a well-deserved beating on Election Day because they abandoned their Conservative Principles, and in the end they stood for nothing. And people who do not stand for something will fall for anything.
So please accept an apology from Mr. Lincoln and myself for their shortsighted and arrogant behavior. I’ve always thought that the shortest route to a person’s mind is a swift kick to their posterior region. You accomplished that with your vote of no-confidence in the last election. It was indeed the best thing that could’ve happened. I thank you for that. It is still morning in America and the goals are the same. Always keep a watchful eye on those who run your local party. After all, they are only human with all the faults that accompany that sad state.
But at last Friday’s annual Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner, it was obvious that the Hamilton County Republican Party had not learned from the lessons of history, and Mr. Lincoln and I regret having our names in any way associated with such abandonment of our conservative principles. You have a right to be disappointed with the leaders of your local Republican Party. Republicans of Hamilton County deserve better. Somebody needs to demand that the current leaders of the Hamilton County Republican Party defend their shameful stewardship. The dream of America is still alive and well. The shining city on the hill beckons you all to do the best you can for all Americans. God bless all of you and God bless America . It is with deep regret that I come to you here today.

Help for Recovering Republicans

As the Official Voice of the Conservative Agenda, it is the Whistleblower’s obligation to remind people that Republicans took a well-deserved beating on Election Day 2006 because they abandoned their Conservative Principles and the Contract with America , and in the end stood for nothing. Club for Growth President Pat Toomey says 2006 was not a repudiation of Republican principles, only the RINOs who were representing the Party at the time. Ronald Reagan would be wondering what happened to his once proud party. We can only imagine what Newt would say. And with the 2008 Primary Elections on March 4 only 22 days away, it should now be obvious to anyone with half-a-brain that Republicans hereabouts have definitely not learned their lesson.
So this morning the Whistleblower is pleased to introduce RINOs Anonymous, a new 12-Step Program for Recovering Republicans. It’s based on Alcoholics Anonymous, the original 12 Step-Model, whose members meet regularly to discuss their conditions, realizing they have an addiction, rather than just a bad habit, and recovery can occur by taking individual and relying on the will of a Higher Power while following the Twelve Steps.
RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) are afflicted with an illness that creates an uncontrollable craving for power, while pandering to everybody they meet so they can tell themselves how much they are loved by the people. They have no principles remaining, those vestiges having long since been sacrificed on the Altar of Expediency.
RINOs Anonymous meetings will begin with members admitting they “have a problem.” In this spirit, many members open their address to the group along the lines of, "Hi, I'm Rob and I'm an RINO" — a catchphrase now widely identified with many similar support groups. Attendees at RA meetings will share their experiences, challenges, successes, and failures, and provide peer support for each other.
These are the Twelve Steps as defined by RINOs Anonymous:

1. We Pandering Politicians admit that we were powerless over raising taxes and spending, and that our lives have become unmanageable.
2. We Pathetic Politicos have now come to believe that a power greater than ourselves can restore us to fiscal responsibility.
3. We Larcenous Legislators made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of the Spirit of Ronald Reagan as we understand Him.
4. We Shameless Schemers made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. We Libelous Liars have admitted to Him, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. We Paraphrasing Plagiarists are now entirely ready to have Him remove all these defects of our character.
7. We Greedy Grovelers now humbly asked Him to remove our all of our shortcomings.
8. We Mendacious Magistrates have made a list of all persons we had harmed, and we are willing to seek them out and make amends to them all.
9. We Terrible Trustees will make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. We Prevaricating Pols will continue to take personal inventory and when we are wrong, we will promptly admit it.
11. We Disingenuous Dissemblers have sought through prayer and mediation to improve our conscious contact with the Spirit of Reagan, as we understand Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we Corrupt Congressmen will now try to carry this message to other Recovering Republicans, and we promise to practice these principles in all our affairs. We swear it. So help us, Newt.
